Heat Wave by Richard Castle

Heat Wave, Premium Edition (Nikki Heat, Book 1) - Richard Castle

Heat Wave begins with a murder. That only makes sense right? Since this is a crime drama that we begin with a murder. So while Nikki Heat is at the crime scene she also has to deal with reporter Rook. Who some how got his way into going along with Nikki every where she goes on these investigations. But along the way Nikki's annoyance for Rook seems to be changing into some sort of attraction. And Rook acts like a guy who just jokes around and isn't very serious about anything. While these two but heads throughout this investigation they also work hard to solve the case. The case has tons of twists, and turns, and I was on the edge of my seat till the very end wonder "who dun it." And I was WRONG... I never would have guess who actually did it...

I didn't realize it at the time, but apparently there is a T.V series based off of this book series. It seems kind of interesting, so I may have to check that out. But I did enjoy the book. I have to say there is only one thing that I didn't like about it. And that it often felt like non of the characters had, or showed any emotion. Sometimes the story just felt really "cut and dried." With no messy emotions at all from anyone. Now every now and then we would see a few emotions but it wasn't in very much detail and it didn't explain very much about any of the characters. So I do look forward to more in this series, but I also hope this improves as I continue reading.
